The “University of Washington” Project
This project showcases the use of modern park lighting fixtures on a university campus that blends historic brick architecture with newly constructed, modernist residential buildings.
Characteristics and Functionality:
Minimalist Design: The luminaires feature a slender, black pole topped with a flat, discreet shade with a slightly rounded profile, giving them a contemporary, elegant look.
Multifunctional Lighting: The system provides safe illumination for key areas of the campus, including wide pedestrian walkways and outdoor sports facilities, such as basketball courts.
Architectural Cohesion: Thanks to its simple form and dark color scheme, the lighting serves as a visual link between traditional architecture and the modern facades of buildings featuring elements of wood and dark metal.
Scalability and Adaptability: The system is available in various height options, allowing for optimal placement of light points in both open spaces and narrower passages between buildings.
Aesthetics of Detail: The finish of the poles and the precise mounting of the luminaires ensure that this lighting is not merely an element of infrastructure, but also a significant detail that enhances the aesthetics of the entire urban design.
