DICK SCOBEE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - WA

Project: “Dick Scobee Elementary School”

Location: Dick Scobee Elementary School, Auburn (Seattle metropolitan area), Washington

Concept and Architecture

The design is based on a minimalist, cuboid form. The distinctive, slanted cut at the top of the post gives it a modern look that complements contemporary school architecture, while also concealing the light source from the view of children and pedestrians.

Functionality and Construction

Directional lighting: The head design ensures precise, asymmetrical downward light distribution. It perfectly illuminates sidewalks and school entrance areas, eliminating glare and ensuring student safety after dark.

Materials and Durability: The body is made of thick-walled, extruded aluminum, powder-coated black. The finish ensures full resistance to vandalism and the specific, rainy weather conditions of the Seattle area (Pacific Northwest).

Integration: The slim profile and clean lines allow the bollards to blend discreetly into the school’s infrastructure and surrounding lawns.

Urban Context

Noctura posts are the ideal solution for educational spaces. They provide intimate, safe, low-level lighting along the main walkways leading to the school without overpowering the architecture of the building itself.
